Job Description:
The billing/collections clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of Medicare, Medicaid, private payer, and patient billing, as well as tracking and following up on accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately inputs patient billing information, including charges for visits and supplies, into the Kinnser and HospiceMD systems.
• Processes and submits Medicare, Medicaid, private payer, and patient claims in compliance with payer requirements and organizational policies.
• Supports the preparation of monthly billing and accounts receivable reports.
• Maintains accurate billing analysis reports for Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.
• Keeps comprehensive and accurate records for billing and accounts receivable.
• Prepares Medicare, Medicaid, private payer, and patient remittance data for entry.
• Notifies the appropriate management team members about missing or late documents necessary for billing.
• Assists in the collection of receivables by monitoring overdue accounts, resubmitting bills, and alerting the billing manager about seriously overdue accounts.
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, payers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensures patient and organizational information remains confidential at all times.
• Performs additional billing, data entry, and computer operations tasks as needed.

Position Requirements:
• A minimum of two years' experience in home health care and hospice billing.
• Familiarity with Kinnser and HospiceMD is preferred.
• Knowledge of home health and hospice practices and methodologies.
• Experience with various Clearing House software platforms.
