AC is Hiring a Production Assembler Near Huntsville, AL

POSITION SUMMARY:

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 5:15 AM - 3:45 PM

Performs complicated manufacturing assembly operations under limited supervision.

PREREQUISITES:

One (1) year previous work experience or equivalent training or 6 months specific on the job training by AC personnel. Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs assembly duties that consist of interpreting drawings, mating parts to conform to print tolerances. Performs repetitive line operations to produce products such as metal, fiberglass, or foam containers. Places parts in specified relationship to each other. Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together by hand, or using hand tools or portable power tools. Applies stencils using stencil, stencil ink and/or spray gun or brush.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

May tend machines, such as drill press, to drill holes in containers on assembly line. May work on a line where tasks vary. May obtain parts to be assembled or for use in the assembly operation, from a specified area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifts 50 lbs maximum and/or frequently lifts objects weighting up to 10 lbs., stoops to reach bottom of containers as necessary, carries parts as required, reaches for parts, handles and grasps parts and tools. Stands 80 % of day, walks 10% of day, and sits 10% of day. Some work may involve sitting more than 10%. Visually checks to ensure proper placement of parts in containers and to check for proper color of paints.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Paints, stencils, solvents, drill motors, grinder, rivet gun, ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, sandpaper, table grinder, brushes, spray gun, air hose, vacuum cleaner, work table, safety shoes, back support, safety glasses, ear plugs, rags, adjustable wrenches, adhesive, belt grinder, shop sketches and blue prints.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works inside 90%, outside 10%; worker is exposed to grinding dust when grinding; worker is exposed to odors in paints and solvents. Worker is exposed to noise when using rivet gun. Exposed to hot temperatures in the plant during the summer months and exposed to colder temperatures in the plant during the winter months.
