Reporting to the Supply Chain Account Manager, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for aiding in the improvement and efficiency and customer service of supply chain operations through data collection and analysis. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong data collection skills and exceptional analytics skills to help streamline warehouse operations and identify the best way to use company resources to achieve its goals. The Logistics Specialist role is located in a warehouse facility and is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Assist Supply Chain Account Manager in managing day to day operations within 3PL to ensure timely processing of orders and critical inventory levels are maintained – raw materials, kitted items and finished goods inventory. Includes periodic audits of 3PL inventory.
• Communicate with the Supply Chain Management team, Retail Sales, Information Systems team and Customer Service teams within SDC to proactively identify potential bottlenecks in the order flow of products to customers. Manage inbound and outbound forecast data.
• Build key cross functional relationships with leadership at 3PL and SmileDirectClub
• Use a variety of data to develop comprehensive reports and deliver to leadership.
• Setup and maintain individual item masters and bills of materials.
• Aid in overseeing the implementation of approved process improvements and carry out periodic quality checks within 3PL. Manage process of vendor notification for non-conforming items.
• Assist in managing the invoice process in conjunction with the 3PL Operations Manager to ensure accurate billing by 3PL providers.
• Demonstrate ability to adjust, respond to and be resourceful in the face of change to deliver business objectives.
• Demonstrate the ability to navigate through a confrontational situation, while valuing both relationships and results.
• Serve as the primary contact between SDC/3PL Providers in absence of Supply Chain Account Manager.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a multi-channel fulfillment environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with familiarity with databases, statistic applications and logistics programs.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve trusting relationships.
• Experience with order management and warehouse management systems and their integration.
• Excellent written verbal and social skills that foster productive communication at all levels of a fast-paced organization.The ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
