Job description
Early Head Start Teachers are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an environment, activities and adult/child interaction that creates an appropriate, positive atmosphere for infant/toddler development. Responsible for maintaining the smooth functioning of the classroom, center, and program by working with the other classroom teacher (there are two in each classroom), working cooperatively with other program staff, supervising classroom volunteers, displaying appropriate work habits, keeping records according to procedures, participating in training and observation/feedback leading to continuous improvement demonstrating ongoing professional growth and upholding agency policies, practices and procedures as well as state and national standards. Other duties as assigned by the Center Supervisor.
Early Head Start Teachers must have a minimum of CDA (infant/toddler) or higher degree in child development or early childhood education.
Must pass background checks, DHR medical and have 3 good work references. Work is full-time (40 hours per week; 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) in Opelika, AL.
Preference given to qualified bilingual applicants who speak Spanish.
