Position Overview
Will be required to work between multiple locations!
This position is responsible for greeting and rooming, patients, administering injections and assisting the physician with procedures. The Medical Assistant position prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight and temperature, and recording this and other information in the medical record. This position is responsible for monitoring supplies and assuring exam rooms are prepared for patients. This position also performs some non-clinical administrative tasks in the front of the office of the practice.
Essential Job Functions
- Check in and room patients, including obtaining demographic and insurance information, assessing vitals, and administering injections
- Assist physician with procedures
- Prepare supplies and exam rooms for patients
- Escort patients to exam rooms and give preliminary instructions, and perform preliminary physical tests & update patient history, medications, and the purpose of the visit in the medical record
- Phlebotomy
- Request, scan, and respond to requests for medical records
- Enter and maintain patient records in the EMR
- Order medications as required
- Travel to the World Golf Village location once a week
Requirements (Experience/Education/Licensing)
Required
- 1-2 years clinical and administrative experience in a medical office
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
- Good venipuncture skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Detail orientation and good organizational & time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (oral & written)
- Good computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook
Preferred
- Some college or Bachelor’s Degree
Hours: Monday-Friday typically 8:00AM-4:30PM
Will be required to work between multiple locations. Expect to work between our Riverside and World Golf Village office. Occasionally Mandarin office.
