Position Overview
The Radiation Therapists are responsible for administering radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologists and the Physicist. These individuals are also responsible for assisting in dosimetry procedures, capturing charges, documenting chargeable items, and clinic administration by assisting the clinical director of operations in various tasks.
Essential Job Functions
- Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by physician, including:
- Review prescription, diagnosis, chart and identification
- Prepare equipment and position patient according to prescription
- Set controls to operate equipment and apply correct dosage
- Patient care
- Photographs of treatment area
- Assist in dosimetry procedures
- Assist in clinic as necessary
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Other tasks as needed, such as:
- CT/Simulations
- Laundry
- Moving, lifting and transporting patients
Requirements
- Active State of Florida Radiation Therapy license required
- Basic Life Support
- Computer literacy required
- Prior clinical experience in Radiation Therapy
