Key Responsibilities:
- Generates and manages a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships, while seeking new accounts through calling efforts, marketing, and referrals within the Bank’s Maryland - Carroll County/Baltimore County region;
- Establishes and meets assigned quantitative sales objectives;
- Maintains ongoing relationships with commercial loan customers and makes referrals to other relevant lines of the bank’s products and services such as the bank’s Treasury Management, Insurance, Wealth Management and Residential Mortgage divisions.
- Generates commercial loans and fee income while evaluating loan requests;
- Makes loan recommendations and generates necessary paperwork for loan evaluation;
- Maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities;
- Serves as a member of the Bank's sales team; makes joint sales calls where these types of calls will improve the opportunity for new business development;
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Bank commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs;
- Provides direct service to commercial customers of the Bank with respect to deposit, loan, and fee income and other miscellaneous products and services; approves or rejects loan applications within individual lending authority; and
- Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least three (3) year as a commercial lender;
- Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients. Manage and retain existing clients;
- Actively participate in civic and community organizations and programs;
- A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services.
- Experience with commercial lending policies and procedures.
- Experience with loan documentation criteria and analyzing financial statements.
- Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills.
- Proficient analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Moderate computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in business, finance or a related field specializing in commercial lending education and training.
