What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Assistant--Students Age 16/17 (Roseville, New Brighton, Moundsview areas) position at ACR Homes?
Direct Care Assistants are employees age 16 and 17 years old who do work similar to the Direct Care Professionals, but with some work restrictions required by law. Restrictions include no overnight work between the hours of 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., no driving while on duty, and other limitations relating to medical equipment and treatments. Optional medication administration training, with approval. Direct Care Assistants assist ACR residents with daily living including personal and health care needs, meals, and recreational and leisure activities.
Paid training is provided, no experience necessary.
About Us:
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications (training provided and paid). *For MED-Passing DCAs ONLY after 6 months of employment.
- Personal Care: Assist with meals, personal hygiene, and use of medical equipment (training provided).
- Therapies: Perform range-of-motion exercises and other therapeutic activities.
- Activity Planning: Organize and participate in fun activities.
- Advocacy: Support and assist clients during doctor appointments.
- Relationship Building: Foster positive connections with clients and coworkers.
Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary documentation and reports.
Pay Rates:
$14.50-$16.50/hour for day and evening shifts-dependent on placement location (med passer)
$14.00-$16.00/hour for day and evening shifts-dependent on placement location (non-med passer)
$16.50-$1850/hour for weekend shifts-dependent on placement location (med passer)
$16.00-$18.00/hour for weekend shifts-dependent on placement location (non-med passer)
Training Wage is $12.00/hour
