Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Technician to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a strong drive and a passion for electronics. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including soldering, schematic reading, and basic computer skills. They will be helping to maintain and set-up test fixtures for state of the art IOT Connected Utilities Metering Devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot electronic issues efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Work well in a team environment, while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
- Soldering and SMT Placement: Perform soldering and place Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) parts by hand.
- Schematic Reading: Read and interpret electronic schematics accurately.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrate mechanical skills for various tasks.
- Lab Maintenance: Be willing to perform basic tasks such as cleaning out the lab.
- PC Skills: Install software and use applications like Excel and Word.
- Revision Control: Understand the basics of revision control systems such as SVN or Git.
- Confluence and Database Navigation: Edit and navigate Confluence, and work with databases for test fixtures using command line.
- Basic Programming: Have a basic understanding of programming, with a heavier focus on electronics.
- Board Modification: Modify circuit boards by removing small parts and performing fine-point soldering as needed. (can learn on the job)
- Proactive Communication: Be pro-actice and vocal about potential issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: AS Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or similar
- Experience: Entry-level position; prior experience is a plus but not required.
- Skills: Basic computer skills, a little programming knowledge, and a strong focus on electronics.
