What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Actalent?
Description:
Actalent's client is a prominent general contactor based in Northern Virginia, they are seeking a construction superintendent to bring onto their team. This individual will be overseeing 1-3 projects in DC within multiple healthcare facilities doing renovation projects. This will be a mix of commercial and federal healthcare. This superintendent will only be responsible for managing subcontractors. They do not self-perform the work (subs vary). Project sizes will range from $1Million - $5Million.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design review process.
- Oversee construction lifecycle, from mobilization to close-out.
- Oversee timely and accurate completion of all documentation and administrative aspects relating to project management execution.
- Oversee quality and safety programs.
- Complete or review project reports for accuracy
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Prepare all close out documentation including warranty information, affidavits, record drawings, final retainage payments, and releases and accounting documents.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Responsible, accountable, and detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Relationship management with clients
- Supervision of subcontractors & vendors
- Willingness to manage projects at other sites a plus
- Construction trades experience is a big plus
