Architectural Project Manger Opening Now!!
Looking for a project manager position in the architectural world to work and be a part of the construction management team? This firm is a full service Architecture and Interior Design firm who works on a variety of projects but specializes across the country on animal healthcare and related fields such as human outpatient healthcare and international veterinary diagnostic laboratories. They are actively hiring for someone to join their team!!
This role will help lead projects through the bidding and construction phases in cooperation with the VP of Construction and the design studios. This person will be responsible for managing several projects in through the construction phases, and coordinating with the client and contractors to resolve any issues. They will ensure submittals, RFIs, and other documentation is returned in a timely manner and in line with the project's design intent.
The dynamic with the design team: they perform all of the design internally and then once the project moves into construction phases, it will be handed over to this individual.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ability to manage your own time and recognize priority of tasks between multiple 10 to 15 projects
• Ability to review submittals, prepare ASIs, and communicate professionally with contractor
• Ability to reply to RFIs and solve construction problems
• Ability to read, understand and coordinate construction drawings and project manuals
• Coordinate with design studio to create ASI drawings
• Perform construction site visits to review compliance of construction with documents
• Coordinate with MEP, Structural, and Civil engineers per project and resolve issues
• Coordinate with product reps for requirements, specifications, and to resolve issues
• Lead the permitting / bidding processes with minor assistance from leadership
• Ability to write project manual specifications is preferred
Must-Haves:
- 5 years of experience in project management with an architectural design firm (or similar engineering design firm, d/b firm or GC)
- Strong understanding of constructability, building codes and standards
- Understanding of construction documents and construction process (have to be able to read the construction documents and understand them)
- Bachelor's in Architecture, Construction Management or similar field
- Strong Communication skills- this individual will be communicating directly with their National clients and it is crucial they are able to do this effectively
Nice-To-Haves:
- Experience in healthcare projects
- Experience/proficiency in design software like Revit or AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Master Spec or SpecLink Cloud
