As a small business defense contractor, Action Manufacturing Company was established in 1946 to service DOD requirements for ordnance products. Our organization was originally founded within close proximity to Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia, Pa. Over the years Action has developed a very successful record as a supplier of high-volume mechanical, electro-mechanical and pyrotechnic fuzes to both U.S. Armed Services as well as friendly foreign governments as approved by the U.S. State Department. Action currently employs approximately 300 employees and utilizes two production facilities: one in Bristol, PA and one in Atglen, PA. Action is currently in the process of opening a third location in Maryland which will house research, development and prototyping capabilities. Action is truly vertically integrated and is currently only one of two fuze manufacturers in the United States capable of producing energetic components, proximity sensing solutions, safety critical components, fuze assemblies and LAP (Load & Pack) with full environmental compliance testing capabilities IAW MIL-STD-331.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team, specializing in the operation and programming of CMM (Mitutoyo) and Keyence machines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in various quality control tasks and possess a strong understanding of mechanical measurements and aerospace standards.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- CMM (Mitutoyo) programming and operation using COSMOS for part acceptance
- Keyence programming and operation
- Proficient in measurement tool usage (micrometer, caliper, comparator, height gauge, etc.)
- Understanding of mechanical drawing, dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Calibration of inspection equipment
- Maintain related formalized records of inspections and remedial action, as applicable.
- Inspect/ Audit a Variety of Products using all variable or attribute measuring equipment and record results to ensure conformance with aerospace customer regulations
- Responsible for First Part Buy Off, Receiving, In Process, First and Final Article inspections
- Perform Receiving, In-process, and Final inspection including Shipping.
- AS9100 - ISO experience/knowledge is preferred
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Detail oriented and meticulous
- Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and multi-tasking
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, E-mail)
Job Requirements:
•Must be able to understand and perform job functions as stated in the job description.
•Normal range of motion and good manual dexterity are necessary for this job.
•Accuracy in performing job is required. Errors in identifying non-conforming operations may cause defective parts and break down of equipment.
Education Requirements:
•High School diploma or equivalent desired, but not necessary.
Training and Experience:
•5 Years mechanical inspection experience
