Injection Molder

This position involves molding, assembling, and packaging a variety of items through various stages of production in strict compliance with specified instructions and procedures.

Essential Duties:

1. Receive job assignments from supervisor or department manager.
2. Review BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing information for the assigned job.
3. Off-load products from machines during runs as instructed.
4. Inspect and evaluate parts and processes for quality conformance.
5. Trim parts using prescribed methods.
6. Apply labels to parts or packaging per specifications.
7. Package parts for shipment according to instructions.
8. Prepare boxes by folding lids before cleaning equipment or floors.
9. Maintain a clean workstation throughout the shift.
10. Follow quality standards and documentation requirements.
11. Properly handle non-conforming products as directed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Advanced Duties:

1. Assist with material retrieval or machine servicing in the absence of setup personnel.
2. Perform secondary milling on auxiliary equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
2. Basic understanding of injection molding processes.
3. Ability to operate computers used in injection molding operations.
4. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with focus and patience.
5. Ability to work under deadline pressures.
6. Openness to on-the-job training and cross-training.
7. Strong communication skills; able to work independently and in teams.
8. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow detailed instructions.
9. Detail-oriented with accuracy, consistency, and a commitment to quality.
10. Punctuality and reliable attendance are essential.
11. Availability for overtime as needed.
12. Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean workspace.

Equipment Used:

• Computers
• Injection molding and tooling machines
• Auxiliary equipment for molding machines
• Hand-held tools, soldering irons, drill presses, etc.

Physical Demands:

• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Occasional use of foot pedals.
• Fine manipulation with hands and fingers.
• Close and color vision.
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.
• Work at varying heights with bending, stooping, standing, and sitting as needed.
• Exposure to minimal fumes and moderate noise levels.
