Meals on Wheels Driver - Full-time Position

JOB TITLE: AG Meal Delivery Driver

GENERAL HOURS OF WORK: Monday –Friday. Hours vary from 8:00am to 2:30pm

EXEMPT OR NON-EXEMPT: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Nutrition

REPORTS TO: Nutrition and Transportation Manager

SUMMARY: Package, transport, and deliver meals to congregate meal sites and home-bound clients.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; disclose driving record for the past three years. Pass a background check and a physical.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:

· Pack items for meals to be delivered.

· Load vehicle for route.

· Deliver meals on the route

· Maintain the vehicle: fuel and clean vehicle when needed

· Comply with all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.

· Deliver meals to area towns when needed.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit; have the ability to use hands and fingers, to handle or feel, and talk or hear.

· The employee is required to move about and frequently reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

· The employee is required to sit and occasionally climb or balance.

· The employee is required to walk short distances and to walk up and down stairs

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move about up to 10 to 30 pounds to waist and shoulder height and occasionally lift and/or move about up to 50 pounds with assistance.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Vehicle liability insurance.

REQUIRED COMMUNICATION/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING SKILLS:

· Must possess the required level of skills and ability to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

· Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer with the windows operating system.

· This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.

· Must be able to stay calm in stressful situations.
