What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Inclusion Aide position at Ada Christian School?
Ada Christian School is seeking a qualified individual with a love for the Lord and a desire to support students with special needs in a classroom setting.
All of our aides walk alongside our faculty in equipping students for service in God’s world. They are a constant source of support and encouragement to teachers, students and parents. An aide provides specific support for students with autism, down syndrome, visually impaired, emotional impairment, learning disability,or attention, helping him/her achieve active participation in a traditional classroom setting. This can involve work within the classroom as well as additional academic support outside of the classroom.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- Completion of High School
- Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited institution and/or related experience working in a child-centered educational setting preferred
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to position

Responsibilities:
- Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following teacher direction and demonstration.
- Assists in preparation of materials for classroom activities and assignments.
- Assist student(s) in monitoring insulin levels.
- Assist student(s) with sensory breaks.
Hours:
Beginning December 2, 8:00-3:00pm four or five days a week
Evaluation:
Reports to: Director of Inclusion, Classroom Teacher(s) and Principal
Performance is reviewed periodically
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Expected hours: 28 – 35 per week
