Description:

The CADC Assessor plays a crucial role in performing comprehensive assessments to determine clients' treatment needs and formulating personalized care plans. This role requires a blend of empathy, professionalism, and precision to support clinical decision-making and guide clients to appropriate services, thereby enhancing the overall quality of care and client outcomes. Activities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Program Administration:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance use history, patterns, and related behaviors.
  • Apply standardized screening tools and ASAM diagnostic criteria to gauge the severity of substance use disorders and related impairments.
  • Collect relevant data from client interviews, collateral contacts, medical records, and prior treatments to inform assessment.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify their strengths, goals, and treatment preferences, considering cultural and individual differences.
  • Analyze assessment findings to create diagnostic impressions and develop tailored treatment recommendations and care plans.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to clients, families, treatment team members, and referring providers.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide services in adherence to HIPAA and CFR 42 Part II regulations.
  • Participate in treatment planning meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to ensure coordinated care.
  • Stay updated on current research, best practices, and evidence-based interventions in substance use and co-occurring disorders.

2. Attend:

  • All Staff Meetings – as scheduled
  • Department meetings – as scheduled
  • Training – as scheduled
  • Others as assigned/scheduled

The listed scope of work is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned, within the scope, knowledge, skills of the position and based upon the needs of the department and Agency.

Requirements:

Education/Licensure Required:

  • Post-secondary education in behavioral health or related field, preferred.
  • MHACBO Registered CADC I, II, III certification.
  • If applicable, CGAC I or II.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of clinical practices and guidelines in addiction treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and CFR 42 PART II policies.
  • Ability to provide evidence-based therapeutic and counseling techniques.
  • Capacity to model healthy behaviors and coping strategies consistent with recovery principles.
  • Skilled in crisis intervention and utilizing a trauma-informed approach.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and clinical integrity.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
