Key Responsibilities
Architect and Design Solutions:
- Develop comprehensive technical solutions in the payments and cards domain, covering transaction processing, card issuance, merchant acquiring, payment gateways, and digital wallets.
- Design scalable and secure architecture for payment processing, ensuring compliance with PCI DSS and other industry standards.
- Architect solutions to support high availability, low latency, and real-time processing in high-transaction environments.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of payment processing technologies, card management systems (CMS), fraud detection systems, and related components.
- Ensure seamless integration with external systems like banks, acquirers, payment networks (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), and third-party services.
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for payments and cards, providing guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional and technical designs.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure successful implementation and deployment of solutions.
- Partner with compliance and security teams to ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory requirements, including PSD2, EMV, 3D Secure, and PCI standards.
- Design API-based integration strategies for external partners such as card networks, payment gateways, fraud monitoring systems, and KYC (Know Your Customer) platforms.
- Provide leadership in the migration of legacy systems to modern, cloud-based platforms.
- Ensure all payment solutions are robust, future-proof, and capable of supporting global markets with multiple currencies and payment methods.
- Monitor performance and scalability of payment and card processing systems, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks.
- Lead efforts to improve system resilience, optimizing transaction flows, reducing transaction failures, and enhancing security.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in solution architecture with a focus on payments and cards.
- Strong experience with payment platforms, card issuance, payment processing networks (Visa, MasterCard, Amex), and gateways.
- Proven track record in implementing and scaling solutions in a high-volume, high-transaction environment.
- Experience with technologies like ISO 8583, EMV, NFC, tokenization, and 3D Secure.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and payment security protocols.
- Deep understanding of payment processing, merchant acquiring, digital wallets, and card issuing lifecycles.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the payments industry (e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR).
- Experience with modern software development practices including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with emerging payment technologies such as blockchain, open banking, and real-time payments.
- Experience with fraud detection, risk management, and anti-money laundering (AML) systems.
- Previous experience in digital transformation projects involving legacy payment systems.
