We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Control Panel Wirer to join our team. Job Description:
As a Control Panel Wirer, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels according to customer specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure that the panels meet all quality, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wiring & Assembly:
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels based on schematics, diagrams, and work orders.
- Ensure proper installation of components, including relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and other control devices.
- Strip, crimp, solder, and connect wires to various components, following wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
- Testing & Troubleshooting:
- Conduct initial tests of control panels to ensure functionality and identify any issues.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose any wiring or component issues in the panels.
- Use testing equipment to verify that the panels are functioning according to customer specifications.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including wiring diagrams, panel modifications, and testing results.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company quality procedures.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to meet production deadlines and resolve any technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associates Degree or Certification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology a plus).
- Understanding of electrical theory, wiring, and control systems.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and wiring equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other industrial control equipment.
- Knowledge of UL508A, NEC, or other relevant electrical standards and codes.
- Experience in working with wire management and panel labeling.
- 2 years of experience in control panel wiring or electrical assembly.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
