ADL Summer 2025 Internship Description 

 

ADL’s New England Regional Operations team is looking for a dynamic intern to join us from June 9 to August 8, 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in civil rights, advocacy, social justice, education, or related fields. Our Advocacy and Communications internship provides the opportunity for students to gain practical experience working in preventing and responding to antisemitism, hate, and all forms of bias throughout Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The focus will be heavily working with the ADL New England staff, including participation in staff meetings, learning opportunities, and access to the knowledge and expertise within ADL nationally.

 

Application portals will close at 6 PM ET on March 7, 2025. ADL will confirm the selected candidates by mid-April.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Passion for non-profit work 
  • Desire to start building career within non-profit sector 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct research and compile data to support decision-making processes and current events for operations.
  • Contribute to communications initiatives, including drafting emails, newsletters, or social media content.
  • Support operations team members with day-to-day admin tasks and incident response activities.
  • Assist in keeping our online databases uptodate including salesforce lists, contact sheets, and community partners.
  • Coordinate details for upcoming webinars and events, including but not limited to brainstorming topics, drafting invitations, structuring conversations, connecting with partner organizations, and researching potential speakers and sponsors.
  • Research legislative policy and state bills throughout New England.

Qualifications

Skills:  

  • Interest in civil rights, advocacy, social justice, education, or related field(s).
  • Dedication to ADL’s mission to “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.”
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively and engage respectfully on contentious topics.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Commitment to thorough research and follow through on tasks
  • Flexibility and the ability to multi-task; self-directed.

Compensation and Hours:

  • This internship is paid $15.00 an hour.
  • The internship is 15 hours per week.

Location:

  • This internship will be hybrid, with on-site presence required in Boston, Massachusetts.

What will you do during this internship?

  • You will learn about real-life decision-making challenges and help us develop real-time solutions.
  • You will have the opportunity to present your work at internal forums within ADL.
  • You will have practical, hands-on experience with regional operations.
  • Collaborate with, meet and learn from ADL subject matter experts at all levels and become familiar with the varied work we do to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all.”
