Job Summary:
Assist the Worden, Huntley and Shepherd Centers with the set-up, prep as needed, meal service and clean-up of their Senior Lunch Program in conjunction with volunteers at those locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with Worden, Huntley, and Shepard center Boards and center members.
- Will help with the set-up at each site for Senior Lunch Program.
- Accepts food from caterer and follows acceptable procedures of proper food storage and handling; documents food temperatures for each meal service at each site.
- Assist with setting up beverages.
- Along with volunteers, will serve meals using food safety standards.
- Will oversee and assist with setup of tables, and clean-up of dishes, pans, dining areas.
- As time allows, assist with activities lead by the site; only after all assigned duties are complete.
- Assists and/or is back-up for checking in participants and receiving fees for Senior Lunch Program, as needed.
- Communicates and maintains frequent contact with participants, site volunteers and community.
- Must work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. At all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with participants, colleagues and supervisors.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings.
- Maintains confidentiality of participant information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Substitute for Meal Site Coordinator and MOW Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Interviews potential MOW participants; determine needs and eligibility; place on appropriate MOW route.
- Take reservations for Senior Lunch Program and provide meal count to food service provider and main office.
- Oversee, monitor and assist with the Worden Center’s meals in coordination with the food service provider; order supplies and perform food service within food safety guidelines.
- Responsible for proper handling of funds collected for Adult Resource Alliance (ARA) Programs at meal site; and securing initial deposits can be made.
- Prepare and maintain all site reports and records, including but not limited to, MOW intake forms, food safety checks records of participation in ARA Programs.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Snow removal from sidewalks and building entrance as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in food preparation and service preferred.
- Experience working with seniors preferred.
