Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our finance team. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, support the finance department with day-to-day operations, and learn key financial processes within a fast-paced business environment. Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with data entry and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist int he preparation and reconciliation of financial statements
- Help process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Help with the analysis of financial data to identify trends or discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements
- Assist senior accountants with special projects, as needed
Other Responsibilities and Duties:
- Documentation and categorizing of the accounting processes
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- The work is performed in a typical office setting. The work is mostly sedentary
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Open office environment exists.
- The position requires extensive communication with others internally to the company and with external customers and suppliers verbal and written
- Required to work additional hours to meet deadlines, as necessary
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Desired: Current enrollment in an undergraduate college / university program (or recent graduate) in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Eagerness to learn and develop skills in accounting and finance.
Special Skills:
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) is a plus
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
