We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team on-site in Ithaca, NY, with limited remote work possibility.

Project Manager
Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for the entire life cycle of internal and external projects covering conception, planning, creation of timelines and execution/management of the project to stay on track and within budget. The projects will cover both hardware and software in the laboratory equipment market following stage-gate/waterfall processes for hardware projects and agile methodologies in software projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and drive projects to stay on time and budget (CDS, TRS, timelines, budget/resource allocation, gate decisions)
- Leverage exemplary people skills to motivate and influence without supervisory authority
- Execute both software and hardware projects, either assigned to in-house resources, outsourced to third party or run by scientific collaborators
- Help projects as single contributor in the technical area of expertise (e.g. lab validation testing) as time allows
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other engineering field with min 7 years of experience (Masters or PhD can count towards this time requirement)
- Certification as project management professional (PMP) OR desire for certification and demonstrable experience managing hardware and software projects with clear understanding of product development principles (stage-gate and agile)
- Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography or other high end scientific laboratory equipment or medical equipment would be a plus.
- Proficient in the use of software tools for Project Management (eg Jira, Confluence, MS Project) and office suite in general.
- Positive attitude, ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Up to 20% overnight travel may be required (collaboration sites, company sites in Europe and Asia, contractor audits)
- Security clearance on secret level would be a plus.
