Substitute Teacher - Head Start – Fond du Lac
ADVOCAP’s Head Start program is accepting applications for a Substitute Teacher for our 2024/2025 program year! Head Start prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position will need to have a welcoming and friendly personality to ensure comfortability in working with kids and families that align with our core mission values for all employees. This position is responsible for teaching a classroom with limited notice by following the curriculum set by the Teacher. This individual will provide guidance and support to the Teacher Assistant and Program Aide.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide a warm, safe, stimulating and organized learning environment for our Head Start kiddos
- Plan and develop appropriate curriculum for children in a classroom setting
- Complete home visits and parent/teacher conferences as needed
- Prepare Head Start children for School Readiness and greater success
- Possesses strong communications, planning, team development, leadership, & event organizing skills
- Ability to work early morning & evening hours as well as occasional Fridays and weekends
- Ensure your availability to work early morning and later evening hours as well as occasional Fridays and weekends.
Job Requirements:
- BA, BS, or BE in Early Childhood Education required
- Current DPI teaching license, preferred
- Ability to empathize with and articulate the needs and circumstances of low-income families
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- CPR certified or willing to obtain
- Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required
- Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
Salary and Benefits:
On-call positions could work up to 36-hour work weeks with summers off. Starting pay is $20.94 per hour. These positions will have access to vacation, sick and holiday pay, and our retirement/401k option.
