The Opportunity
This role is a critical engineering leadership position responsible for optimizing the workflow, delivery effectiveness, to enable engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality technology solutions that align with the organization’s goals. They are accountable for on-time results, delivery quality and enabling successful attainment of business unit goals and objectives through technology.
This role will work closely with project managers and technical leads to ensure that the engineering team has the tools and environment needed to succeed. They provide management, leadership and professional guidance in the delivery phases of the work.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- Product Roadmap and Product Delivery
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to define and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Lead the product operations and engineering teams to deliver against the roadmap, focusing on delivering new features, enhancements, and improvements on time and within scope
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, ensuring that products are delivered with high quality and meet BU expectations
- Drive the prioritization of engineering efforts based on product roadmap timelines, business impact, and business unit needs
- Collaborate with engineering management to ensure engineering teams have the resources, skills, and processes to deliver against product goals efficiently and at scale
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering to ensure that product engineering efforts align with the broader modernization initiatives related to underlying technology frameworks
- Operational Efficiency and Delivery Management
- Implement and refine agile processes across the product engineering teams, ensuring iterative delivery, regular releases, and a high degree of collaboration between teams
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving regular retrospectives and process optimizations within the engineering teams
- Ensure timely delivery of product features, balancing the need for speed-to-market with quality, security, and performance standards
- Product Performance and BU Satisfaction
- Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, ensuring that products deliver expected outcomes for business unit and meet performance, usability, scalability, and stability benchmarks
- Lead efforts to improve user experience, using data-driven insights to inform product engineering priorities and ensure that business unit feedback is incorporated into product development cycles
- Ensure that all products are built with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability, supporting the business’s high transaction volume and mission-critical operations
- Talent Development and Team Leadership
- Build, manage, and mentor high-performing team of engineering operations professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
- Promote continuous learning within engineering operations and engineering teams, ensuring that all team members stay up-to-date with modern technologies, frameworks, and methodologies
- Lead recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives to ensure the team has the right skills to meet evolving business needs
- Strategic Leadership
- Provide leadership in shaping the long-term product strategy, ensuring that engineering operations efforts support the organization’s growth, innovation, and business unit needs
- Serve as a key partner to the CTO and other senior leaders, providing insights and recommendations on product operations engineering trends, risks, and opportunities
- Foster a culture of innovation within the product operations and engineering teams, encouraging experimentation with new technologies and methodologies that drive business value
- Foster a culture of collaboration within the product operations and engineering teams
- Employee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.

Required Qualifications
- 10 years of leadership experience, preferably within healthcare, eCommerce, or SaaS software
- 10 years of project management, product owner or software delivery manager experience supporting web application or ecommerce development teams
- 10 years of operations experience, running companies or teams with varying projects and team members to manage
- Proven experience in leading Agile product development teams and delivering against a product roadmap in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, development lifecycles, and modern technologies, including cloud platforms and DevOps
- Proven experience serving as technical liaison between business unit stakeholders and engineering
- Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize engineering processes and workflows
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable products
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams, drive complex projects, and balance competing priorities
- Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks associated with engineering operations and compliance
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- Excellent with various methodologies of gathering and evaluating data
