What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packing Department Lead position at AFCO Industries, Inc.?
Coordinate daily operation of packing department while reporting to the Department Supervisor. Manage overall operation of the assigned packing department. Supervision up to 10 employees.
Responsibilities: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
- Communicates job assignments to employees via production orders.
- Helps set up packing stations.
- Ensures quality of the packing before transport to shipping.
- Update production orders in SAP.
- Update notes in Kermit daily.
- Prioritizes items to be packed to meet daily shipping needs.
- Assists in packing of materials when needed.
- Able to operate Rail Robot.
- Ensures that company rules and policies are followed.
- Ensures that equipment is kept in top operating condition.
- Works within the guidelines of the quality program.
- Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
- Keeps management informed of any problems or accidents.
- Gives proper consideration to safety on each job and enforces all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Performs related work as required.
Requirements:
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to work with and direct the activities of employees. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Work with automated and manual packing machines and be able to utilize a motorized pallet jack. Excel and SAP with basic computer skills.
- Education: High School or GED
- Experience: One to three years supervisory or related experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.50 per hour
