The Cook prepares, seasons and cooks meats, vegetables and other foods for consumption in accordance with specified recipes and plating guides.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares food orders based on the specified recipes, taking into consideration guest requests. 
• Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of grills and deep fryers. 
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare salads, sauces, etc. 
• Grills and/or fries meats, chicken and fish. 
• Cooks food on fryers, grills and flat tops. 
• Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking. 
• Observes and tests foods being cooked by either pressure testing and/or use of a thermometer to determine whether each item is properly cooked. 
• Ensures portion sizes and plates foods based on established plating guides. 
• Ensures proper labeling and rotation of foods
• Ensures work areas are clean and sanitized
• Understands and observes all health and safety regulations
• Other related duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED required. Experience as a line cook in a similarly sized kitchen strongly preferred.
