Job Summary:
This Copywriter role is an ideal opportunity for a creative, strategic Advanced B2B Copywriter with demonstrated business-to-business (B2B) experience to own storytelling and copywriting across multiple geographies, products/services business units and shared services teams. This hybrid full-time role maintains the highest editorial and professional standards for all copy and ensures that it conforms to internal style and branding guides. This individual possesses the ability to turn abstract concepts into captivating marketing messages and can spin creative briefs into actionable and innovative outputs.
Responsibilities:
- Create engaging copy and editorial for internal and external messaging
- Display advanced proofreading and editing skills with keen attention to detail
- Participate in meetings/calls to hear download sessions directly from project owners
- Work with the Traffic Manager to ensure that all copy deliverables, kick-off sessions, and copy edits are routed through/conducted according to procedure
- Ensure content is delivered in a timely matter in the format requested
- Ask thought-provoking questions to build intentional stories that represent the AFL brand
- Demonstrate exposure to and enthusiasm for a mix of marketing channels and tactics to understand the job your copywriting needs to do based on where a message or type of communication will reside
- Participate in review sessions, brainstorms, concepting, and development of projects collaborating with creative team, marketing, and business stakeholders
- Learn about our industry, AFL’s place in the market, our customers and channel partners, various products and services, target audience(s), and competitor activities
- Demonstrate interest in current events, commerce, and advertising trends and techniques
- Embrace a culture of ongoing training and development in content development best practices
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or advance degree in journalism, communications, English or related field
- 5-7 years of B2B writing experience preferred – both long and short form for digital and print
- Previous experience working in a high-volume agency/corporate environment, a plus
- Ability to listen to technical and non-technical team members to perform own research as needed and connect the dots to create compelling copy that is actionable
- Provide creative writing samples that demonstrate originality, innovation, problem-solving, personal expression, and results-oriented content. Samples of long-form content such as whitepapers, case studies and e-books a plus.
