Job Purpose :

The eLearning Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging and impactful learning solutions that meet organizational objectives. Leveraging instructional design principles, multimedia development tools, and emerging technologies, they create eLearning content that enhances learner engagement, retention, and performance. At ACW, the eLearning Developer will collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training solutions align with business goals and effectively address the learning needs of employees and partners.

Responsibilities and Associated Duties :

  • Works with subject matter experts, conducts needs’ assessments and analysis to identify new development needs in learning performance. Assesses project risks and issues, providing solutions where applicable.
  • Reviews existing course content and makes recommendations for potential updates.
  • Applies instructional design theories to develop training content through all stages of the learning development process including scripting, storyboarding, prototyping, testing, and final production and perform technical troubleshooting during and after the production process.
  • Designs and creates engaging learning activities and compelling training content that enhances retention and information transfer using a variety of eLearning authoring tools.
  • Creates supporting material / media (audio, video, simulations, games etc.).
  • Determines the context of aesthetics (size, typography, design, and experience), placement, content format, and more.
  • Determines the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments.
  • Evaluates instructional effectiveness.
  • Researches and evaluates new and emerging technologies for potential use in instructional opportunities to align with evolving organizational needs.

  • High-Quality Content Creation : Develops engaging, interactive, and visually appealing eLearning modules that align with instructional design best practices and organizational objectives.
  • Timely Delivery : Delivers learning solutions on schedule while meeting project milestones and timelines.
  • Impactful Learning Outcomes : Demonstrates measurable improvement in learner retention, engagement, and performance based on training assessments and feedback.
  • Content Relevance and Accuracy : Ensures training materials are up-to-date, accurate, and tailored to the target audience’s needs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Effectively collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning needs and incorporate their input into content development.
  • Innovation in Learning Design : Identifies and incorporates emerging eLearning technologies and methodologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assessment Effectiveness : Develops assessments that accurately measure learner understanding and performance against defined criteria.
  • Proactive Problem Solving : Identifies and resolves challenges in the design and development process, providing solutions that minimize project delays and enhance content quality.
  • Feedback Integration : Actively gathers and incorporates feedback from learners, stakeholders, and management to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.
  • Regular Communication : Maintains clear and effective communication with team members, management, and stakeholders throughout the content development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements :

  • Education and Experience :
  • oBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning and Development, or a related field; equivalent job experience is acceptable.

    o1 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering eLearning solutions or similar training programs.

  • Knowledge :
  • oStrong understanding of instructional design models and adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy).

    oFamiliarity with eLearning content standards, such as SCORM or xAPI.

    oAwareness of trends and technologies in eLearning and instructional design.

  • Skills :
  • oProficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.

    oExperience creating and editing multimedia content (e.g., audio, video, graphics).

    oStrong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines and multiple priorities.

    oExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

    oAnalytical and creative problem-solving skills to evaluate and improve learning outcomes.
