Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to o manage work operations of the Utilities, Pest Controller Sections and Liquid Fuels Maintenance. The Utilities Section is responsible for all repairs and maintenance of all utilities within Joint Base San Antonio to include analysis / water treatment and associated distribution systems, underground sewage distribution and collection system, natural gas distribution system, backtlow prevention program, fire suppression systems.

  • IAW AFI 44-107, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program, This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
  • This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime / contingency operations
  • Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status II alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available
  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS : Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4700 General Maintenance & Operations Work Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

    The screen out element for this position is the ability to lead and supervise.

    JOB ELEMENTS : Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and / or competencies in the following areas :

    I. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trades(s) and / or crafts(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity / Equal Employment Treatment.

    2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

    3. Ability to read interprets blueprints, diagram, sketches, and technical specifications.

    4. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.

    5. Ability to manage overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions and implement sound personnel policies, practices, and procedures through the one or more levels of subordinate supervisors.

    6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
