Description

Oversees the servicing and maintenance of commercial air conditioning and heating system units and ensures work is completed according to company specifications and established safety guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides supervision for service technicians on job sites in New York City zone(s)
• Can motivate others while offering guidance and training to service technicians in the field
• Follows all procedures and protocols while providing trouble-shooting for complex technical issues
• Cooperates and shares information effectively with technicians and leadership team 
• Comprehends customer requirements and directs job operations and technicians appropriately
• Builds positive relationships with customers, technicians; provides exemplary customer service 
• Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and adheres to proper motor vehicle procedures at all times

Key Competencies:

• Able to work extended hours on weekdays and weekends as needed
• Well versed in mechanical systems for commercial buildings, refrigeration cycles, chillers, water towers, roof top units, gas fired boilers & heating systems, pumps, VAV systems and building automation systems
• Detail oriented and highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
• Explains procedures thoroughly; provides mentoring and guidance to others learning in the field
• Top performer who can instill pride of workmanship in self and others

Required Education and Experience:

• 8-10 years’ experience in the HVAC industry in service, maintenance, and troubleshooting and correcting diverse HVAC issues
• HVAC Journeyman, E02 and EPA Universal preferred
• High School Diploma or Associates Degree
• Clean driving and criminal records as required by state laws for mechanical contracting companies and by company insurance carrier(s)

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices), carry and climb ladders, work from heights, work in small crawl spaces, balance, stoop, kneel. The employee is expected to work in all weather conditions, both in extreme cold and heat. The employee may drive for extended periods of time, including in all types of weather and day/night light conditions.
