The Role at a glance:
We are looking for an Event Sales Manager to add to our team in our Pueblo, CO location. This is a great opportunity if you have a catering events background and you have had experience planning and executing those events. You’ll be directly supporting the needs/goals of the Director of Catering as well as the Event Specialist. If you are looking to advance your career in managing events, this is a great role for you.
What you'll be doing:
- Working as a member of a cohesive operations team supporting the Director of Catering and sales team, as well as the General Manager to enable perfect event execution. This individual functions as a support to the Event Manager and Captains, as well as acting as a junior sales specialist when business levels are high. The Catering Manager maintains a positive, “win-win” attitude, always working to improve the execution and timeliness of their team.
- Ensuring all event information in CaterTrax and EMS software from the sales team is up to date and fully detailed prior to event/deadlines.
- Assisting in the setup and execution of events
- Staffing of events to include operation/management of lighting, sound, and other set-up requests as needed.
- Ensure that event rentals have scheduled deliveries and pickups that are convenient for specialist or venue manage
- Maintain calendar of events through Outlook and attend all necessary event meetings and conference calls.
- Communicate with sales, culinary and booking staff, as needed, to ensure understanding of menus and client need
- Responsible for the collection and submission of all payments and deposits as it relates to contracted events. They are responsible for ensuring that these payments are on time and responsible for reviewing the weekly AR report and correcting any discrepancies and/or collecting any late payments.
What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
- 2 years of catering/food-beverage and/or administrative/event experience
- Basic PC knowledge and comprehension (Word & Excel)
Nice-to-haves:
Safe Food Handlers Certification
