What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Network Engineer position at Alamance Foods?
We are looking for a dedicated IT Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
- Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
- Monitoring network engineering performance and ensuring system availability and reliability.
- Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
- Implementing disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
