Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses. You will also perform various administrative tasks related to patient records, insurance billing. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, an extensive knowledge of eyewear products, and the ability to provide accurate and personalized recommendations to our patients.
Full time position. Work week - EFFECTIVE 2024 MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9:00AM TO 6:00PM
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting eyeglass frames and lenses based on their prescription, face shape, and personal style preferences.
- Take accurate measurements of customers' facial features to ensure proper fitting of eyewear.
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and other enhancements to improve their vision.
- Order eyeglass frames, lenses, and contact lenses from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery.
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed, including frame adjustments, nose pad replacement, and lens replacements.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of customer information, prescriptions, and transactions.
- Process insurance claims and billing for eyewear purchases and services.
- Maintain a clean and organized dispensing area, ensuring all eyewear displays are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in eyewear to provide the best recommendations to customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Licensed optician or ABO certified
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of eyewear products, including various lens options and frame styles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Detail-oriented and able to accurately measure and fit eyeglasses.
- Proficient in performing basic repairs and adjustments on eyewear.
- Familiarity with insurance billing processes and ability to work with insurance providers.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
