Job Summary
The Scribe works to facilitate patient flow through Alaska Women’s Health clinic and to ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. The Scribe assists the medical provider by accompanying them during the medical history-taking and exam, recording details of both into the medical record, and coordinating departmental resources regarding tests, orders, ultrasound, radiology and results.
Essential Job Responsibilities
The Scribe reports to the Nurse Manager but will receive direction from the medical provider and /or Administrator. The Scribe is responsible for carrying out primary duties as outlined by the providers/nurse manager or administrator. These functions include, but are not limited to:

Job Qualifications
· Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and able to conduct oneself with the utmost professionalism regardless of the situation.
· Good sense of organization and attention to detail.
· Ability to document accurately and in a timely manner.
· Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
· Consistency and timeliness in attendance.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and understand the English language.
· Ability to support leadership collaboration and initiatives.
· Excellent keyboard skills.
Education
· High school diploma and one year of college.
· Current BLS certification.
Physical/Mental Requirements
· Flexibility in scheduling
· Coping with a sometimes high-pressure environment.
· Standing for long periods of time
· Frequent walking for short distances
· Repetitive motion work with keyboards, physical writing
