To be a Pharmacy Clerk you must:

• Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer satisfaction by exhibiting care, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.

• Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the associate’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.

• Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, takes all steps required to accurately fill the prescription in compliance with all laws, regulations, physician orders and company policies and procedures regarding the sale of pharmaceuticals.

• Follow legal requirements with respect to prescription filling, insurance and third party procedures and HIPAA.

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, Safety and Sanitation regulations, and individual store guidelines

• Accesses the pharmacy computer to obtain complete patient record (on both cash and third party prescriptions) and verifies third party parameters.

• Accurately inputs, accesses, processes, and retrieves data from the pharmacy computer, including speed codes and drug interaction data, as state laws permit.

• Directs professional inquiries to the pharmacist.

• Meet all state laws and regulations.

• Be able to read, understand and interpret technical written data.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Do simple addition, subtraction, copying figures, counting, and recording.

• Possess the ability to understand and follow written, verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
