What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor, Behavioral Health position at Alcohol & Drug Freedom Center of Knox County?
Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is seeking a full-time Counselor in Behavioral Health who will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients through the use of interviews, observations, testing, and other information gathered from collateral sources.
The salary range for this position is $45,000-$65,000 and offers a variety of excellent benefits including:

The Counselor will provide individual, family, and group therapy services in accordance with The Freedom Center's standard of care and is also responsible for:
- Documenting all client-related contact; maintaining updated clinical records for each client.
- Communicating with families, probation officers, caseworkers, and others involved in the care of the patient in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
- Supporting the relationship between The Freedom Center and the community.
To be successful in this position, you'll need knowledge of:
- Techniques used to diagnose and treat mental health issues
- Principles, theories, and methods of emotional and social development
- Legal, ethical, and professional rules of conduct
- HIPAA and other Federal/State laws regarding confidentiality and storage or health information
To meet the qualifications for this position, you must have at least a Bachelor's in Social Work, a LSW, and counseling experience. Master's degree with licensure in behavioral health field (LISW, LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LIMFT, LCDC, and LICDC) preferred.
