Description

 An airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanic is an airplane mechanic who repairs and services every part and system in an airplane except the instruments. An A&P mechanic must meet the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) standards and comply with FAA regulations to be authorized to work on airplanes. This position involves performance of both mechanical and administrative tasks in FAR 135 and 145 environments. As an A & P Mechanic, you will be expected to both manage, perform maintenance and inspections for multiple aircrafts across Alerion bases. Administrative tasks include generating, processing and closing work order packages, aircraft computerized maintenance tracking, coordinating and handling outside maintenance providers (OMPs) for OMP work performed both on-site and away. Job responsibilities entail work outside normal business hours, and some travel. Moderate to heavy lifting required. 

Requirements

 

Holds a current mechanic certificate with Airframe and/or Powerplant rating from an FAA Approved training program (required)

· Inspection Authorization (desired)

· Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance

Knowledge Requirements:

· Knowledge of both FAR 135 and 145

· Knowledge of aircrafts maintenance tracking systems including CMP and CAMP

· Familiarity with MS Word and Excel

· Formal type-specific training in aircraft (desired)

Responsibilities & Requirements:

· Minimum of 3-5 years full-time employment as an Aircraft Technician in a corporate/business jet setting (strongly preferred)

· Must have maintenance experience on one or more of the following brands of aircrafts (corporate jet lines of aircraft only):

1. Gulfstream

2. Dassault

3. Bombardier

4. Cessna

5. Embraer

6. Hawker

· Experience in FAR 145 Repair Station (desired)

· Comply with all Federal Aviation regulations, company operations manual, operations specifications, standard operating procedures and company policies & procedures.

· Must be able to pass DOT/FAA drug screening, background checks and submit to random drug/alcohol test when required.

· Responsible for properly performing all work assigned to him/her in accordance with approved maintenance procedures, for recording of all work performed, and assuming responsibility for that work as indicated by his/her signature or initials.

· Notifies the Director of Maintenance of any discrepancies or un-airworthy conditions found during the performance of work assigned.

· Notifies the Director of Maintenance immediately about any conditions that would create a problem relating to parts, materials, airworthiness or workmanship.

· When directed he/she will attend any maintenance training program the Company may establish.

· Responsible for completing all required paperwork entries in a clean, neat, and legible manner.

· Maintains their working area in a clean and orderly manner.

· Supervises any un-certificated person employed by the Company and performing maintenance to Company aircraft.

· Documents all work performed influencing references to technical data used on work orders and other internal forms as required

· Documenting all parts and/or equipment removed from or installed on aircraft on the removal and installation forms.

· Promote an efficient and professional work environment

· Able to work with minimal supervision

· Needs to be available to work different shifts and weekends as requested.

· Able to travel away from primary facility for training and work.

· Perform other duties as assigned.
