What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Manager position at Alfred Miller Companies?
Essential Functions
1. Oversee the loading and shipping of all items shipped from AMC. AMC is a precast manufacturer and will have large precast items to transport, and inventory items, equipment, etc.
2. Coordinate transportation demands, negotiate shipping rates, and manage delivery times and costs
3. Optimize construction yard space to improve efficiency
4. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the workflow
5. Conduct daily strategy meetings with teams to discuss project schedules and priorities
6. Hire drivers for Red Hammer Trucking as needed to keep up with AMC demand.
7. Manage driver personnel files, DOT compliance reporting, and maintain medical certifications for personnel
8. Proactively address delivery challenges and customer service issues including but not limited to directing investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints
9. Complying with transportation-related policies
10. Scheduling employees in transportation roles
11. Developing transportation routes
12. Coordinating maintenance and repairs for transportation vehicles
13. Managing and reporting scaled shipping and delivery times costs

6. Experience driving in Louisiana and Texas.
Qualifications
1. Must successfully complete pre-employment requirements that include, but not limited to, drug screening and physical testing
2. Valid Commerical Driver’s License is preferred
