What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tooling Designer - Engineer position at Algus Packaging?
The Tooling Designer/Engineer will learn how to design custom tooling, aligned with our established standards to provide innovative and industry-leading equipment to numerous customers both in the retail and medical packaging industries. Versatility will be key as day-to-day requirements could involve various activities. Initiative and commitment are highly valued.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Designs tools and machines used to produce high-quality custom automation equipment for the packaging industry.
· Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.
· Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams from concepts to final testing phases.
· Identify and resolve design issues to ensure optimal functionality and durability.
· Establish lasting and positive client partnerships.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:· Basic Understanding of Production Drawings.
· Proficient in 2-D type AutoCAD & 3-D type Solid works CAD Software.
· Detail Oriented.
· Mechanically Inclined.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
· Ability to manage projects independently with minimal oversight.
· Proficient in managing a wide range of tasks and functions.
· Capable of adapting quickly to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
Education and Experience:· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering strongly preferred, but relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
· Three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
