Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of various building systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, HVAC/R, and general facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ongoing maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep of equipment within the premises.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Address broken or leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
• Work on damaged electrical wiring in case of shortages or severed wires
• Apply preventative measures to reduce the risk of future problems (e.g., sealant application on flat roofs)
• Fix potential safety hazards to prevent injuries
• Paint the building when old paint has faded or chipped
• Inspect and fix any malfunctioning equipment promptly
• Identify and address safety concerns promptly
• Schedule major repairs with the building’s occupants
• Coordinate with other team members and contractors for professional repairs

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in basic repair tasks (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical work)
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills for coordinating repairs and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions

Education and Experience:

• Relevant certifications or training in facilities management or related fields are a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training or certification in maintenance-related fields is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.56 - $27.00 per hour
