Car Wash - Store/Facility Manager

Base Salary: $40,000-$60,000 Monthly Bonuses equaling up to $16,000 per year

All Washed Up Auto Spa looking for a site manager for our brand new Express Car Wash location in Uniontown, PA. We are looking for a Highly Motivated, well rounded individual that has the drive and experience to lead a winning team and run one of our premier sites. Our Tunnel Manager is responsible for running all aspects of the Car Wash to provide clean, shiny, dry cars for our customers. This includes managing a team of an assistant manager, Lead and part time attendants, providing great customer service, performing scheduled maintenance and repairs of the car wash equipment, and building financial & inventory reports to track the performance of the site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

• Manage a team consisting of a Full Time assistant manager, Full Time Lead Attendant and between 2 to 4 part time attendants that will operate the carwash.
• Oversee your team by managing their workload, productivity, scheduling, hiring and firing.
• Assist customer with any issues that may arise
• Schedule and Perform Preventative Maintenance on the Tunnel Car Wash equipment, HVAC, Water purification and reclaim systems, Vacuums, and Vending equipment and keep the overall facility in good, clean, working order.
• Schedule and oversee Major Equipment repairs with our Maintenance team.
• Oversee the completion of scheduled and assigned washing and cleaning of the car wash tunnel, equipment rooms, exterior, parking lot, and vacuum areas
• Oversee the upkeep of the landscaping and general appearance of the property
• Communicate issues and provide feedback to the Operations Manager regarding maintenance issues, Employee and outside service vendor performance.
• Complete financial tracking reports
• Perform cash deposits to a local bank
• Maintain fully stocked inventory and be accountable for all aspects of assigned inventory; assist in monitoring and control of maintenance inventory. Requisition of parts necessary to keep the wash operating at 100%.. Order needed non-stocked items.
• Attend and participate in all work related meetings, scheduled inventories and training classes.
• All other tasks assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education/ Skill Set:

• Moderate level of technical aptitude is required
• Understanding of basic Accounting/ mathematics principals
• Able to learn, understand, and use a wide range of computer based programs

Preferred Experience

• Automotive Service Manager
• HVAC Technician
• Retail Management
• Restaurant Management

Licenses/Certifications

• Valid Driver’s license
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check

Schedule Requirements:

The car wash is open 7:00am to 9:00pm seven days a week including Holidays. We are closed on Christmas. Our busiest days are Saturday and Sunday. You will have the flexibility to build our own schedule but will be responsible for the performance of the car wash during all operating hours. This will entail:

• Willing and able to work 45 Hours per week.
• Must be available to work beyond usual end time on occasion to complete jobs
• Must be available to work Holidays and weekends regularly
• Must be available to be “On Call” and respond to employee needs

How many of us can say that our high school summer job turned into a successful career? Chuck DeLullo can. He and his wife, Shelly, opened their first car wash in 1996 – a trade Chuck learned from his dad, who owned a mini tunnel when Chuck was growing up.

“My wife and I wanted to start a carwash from scratch, so we bought the land and started with one location,” DeLullo says, recalling the first site in DuBois, Pa.

The business has grown to include five additional western Pennsylvania locations: Punxsutawney, Penn Hills, Harmar, Canonsburg, and Munhall. There are also two new locations coming soon in the greater Pittsburgh area.

The company’s quick growth, DeLullo says, is something the couple did not plan. “We were only ever going to build one carwash,” he says with a chuckle. “That was the plan. But opportunities for growth to stand out among other car washes in the area, particularly because of the cleanliness of the sites.

“It projects a certain image to the public,” he says. “People know that if you keep up with the cleanliness that you will clean and maintain other aspects of your facility. There are some car washes that are only five years old, but look like they’re 15 years old because there’s algae all over the walls and they’re not clean and maintained. We want to keep a nice place because people are coming to clean their cars. They don’t want to come to a dirty place to clean it.”

Hand in hand with that philosophy is the maintenance schedule. Similar to visible dirt, grime or algae, a closed bay can send a negative message to customers or potential customers driving past one of the facilities. “If something breaks down, even if it’s raining, we want to fix it so that people don’t drive by and see a bay closed and think that it’s always closed, “notes DeLullo. “We strive to keep everything looking new.”
