Job Summary:
Alliance Imaging is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Radiology Tech Assistant to join our radiology team. The Radiology Tech Assistant will provide essential support to our radiologic technologists and sonographers, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality patient care. This role involves preparing patients for imaging procedures, assisting with equipment setup, and maintaining a clean, organized environment within the department. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for radiologic procedures by providing necessary information, helping them into positions, and ensuring their comfort.
- Equipment Assistance: Support radiologic technologists in the setup and positioning of imaging equipment, maintaining readiness for use, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Data Entry: Accurately record patient information, procedure details, and any other necessary data into the electronic health record system. Collect prior imaging and upload into systems. Complete release of information.
- Inventory Management: Track and restock radiology supplies, including gowns, linens, and other essentials to ensure readiness for patient care.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the imaging rooms and department, including disinfecting equipment and arranging materials.
- Patient Transport: Safely assist in transporting patients to and from the department as needed.
- Front Desk Workflow: Assist with incoming phone call, scheduling, patient check in and registration as able.
- Assist with Special Procedures: Provide support during special procedures, including ensuring all necessary materials are ready and helping with patient positioning.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical license such as MA, CNA or LPN preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed
- Stand, walk, and move frequently within the clinical setting
- Perform duties involving occasional bending, lifting, and reaching
