About the Role:
We are seeking a community-oriented candidate who enjoys a fast-paced, high-energy, and collaborative team environment. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant performs general accounting, grant, and financial reporting functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform various general accounting functions including maintenance of the general ledger through journal entries, cash receipts, balance sheet reconciliations, invoice and expense reimbursement coding, monthly GET filings, and EFT payments.
- Maintain all records for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and coordinate monthly distributions to agencies.
- Assist with grants accounting; ensure expenditures are aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant period.
- Perform HUD drawdowns and monitoring of sub-recipients.
- Assist in evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls and procedures.
- Maintain accounting files and records both paper and electronic for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with the Records Retention Policy and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with annual financial audit and prepare supporting schedules as needed.
- Back-up for accounts payable, campaign processing, and bank deposits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or any combination of education and nonprofit financial management experience which would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position.
- Candidates with at least 2 years of accounting experience will be considered.
- Work experience inclusive of account reconciliation and journal entry preparation preferred.
- Professional experience within nonprofit sector in an accounting, finance, and/or audit capacity highly desired.
Essential Skills/Knowledge:
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite; proficient in excel.
- Knowledge of general ledger procedures and accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work on concurrent assignments and meet deadlines timely, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Genuine team player with an all-hands-on-deck mentality.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
