 Alpha Source LLC, powered by Probo Medical, is looking for a skilled Board Testing Technician to be based at our Jeffersonville, IN facility.  Alpha Source LLC delivers service and solutions under three brands — Alpha Source, BC Technical and Medical Optics. POSITION SUMMARY
The Board Testing Technician, reporting to the Manager, Technical Operations, tests and evaluates electronic and electromechanical devices used as subcomponents in diagnostic imaging systems, specifically those of MR and CT.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual’s job.  The BRT may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

  • Performs testing of all components of the fully operational system of a CT or MR diagnostic imaging piece of equipment.
  • Ensures that the appropriate throughput testing is completed, and results documented; if throughput testing results are not within desired range, identifies needed actions to be completed.
  • Works with all types of electronic diagnostic equipment, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Works with testing procedures to evaluate the disposition of the part being tested.
  • Works with all types of Windows and DOS based software products.
  • Being able to adapt to different software such as Unix, Vx Works, etc.
  • Meets corporate QA standards.
  • Maintains all assigned assets per company Policies and Procedures.
  • Improves personal productivity by enhancing product knowledge through formal and on the job training.
  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
  • Ensures test equipment is in working order and is in calibration.
  • Ensures test equipment meets applicable safety requirements.
  • The possibility of 10% travel may be required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Associate’s EET degree or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of previous Electronics Based experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • The ability to use various types of manual and power tools.
  • Proven track record of meeting timelines
  • Self-starter
  • The ability to operate a computer and navigate both Windows and DOS based programs
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and wire diagrams
  • The ability to organize and prioritize tasks as well as the ability to be a self-starter with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work well with others and alone.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Constant repetitive work using your hands.
  • Requires regular or sustained lifting, pulling, and/or pushing of heavy materials, tools, or equipment up to 50 pounds (any weight over 50 pounds will be team lifted or lifted with an assisting device).
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) / Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
    • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to key, handle or feel; talk or speak; hear, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch; bend; reach with hands and arms; and walk. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
