Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT and telecommunications, with a focus on customer service and technical support. This role involves working with low voltage systems including Voice Over IP and Ethernet installations. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and providing exceptional service to our clients.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including VoIP and networking equipment.
- Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter to perform diagnostics and ensure proper functionality of equipment.
- Interpret schematics and technical documentation to assist in the installation and repair of systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to VoIP systems, network connectivity and voice quality.
- Train end-users on the operation and features of VoIP systems and provide technical support as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on VoIP, network installation projects and telecommunication tasks.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in the IT and telecommunications fields.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT support or telecommunications, with a strong understanding of network IP and routing.
- Hands-on experience with VoIP platforms such as Asterik, FreePBX, Cisco Call Manager or similar.
- Familiarity with SIP and other VoIP protocols.
- Familiarity of networking principles (TCP/IP, VLANS, NAT)
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Proficient in reading schematics and technical documents related to network installations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
