Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistant to support teachers and enhance the educational experience for students. The ideal candidate will work closely with students in a classroom setting, providing assistance in various subjects and helping to manage classroom dynamics. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive learning environment, particularly for students with special needs or diverse learning requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Support students with literacy education, ensuring they develop essential reading and writing skills.
- Provide individualized support to students with special education needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive classroom behavior.
- Help maintain an organized and conducive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed.
- Facilitate small group activities and provide one-on-one assistance during lessons.
- Engage with students in a manner that encourages their participation and enthusiasm for learning.
Experience
Candidates should possess a background that includes:
- Experience working with students in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education services.
- Understanding of literacy education practices.
- Previous experience in deaf education or working with children with hearing impairments is a plus.
