Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support to individuals in their homes or assisted living facilities. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and personal care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, especially for those with memory care needs or chronic illnesses.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, including the safe use of lifting systems when necessary.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Support clients in medication management by reminding them of their schedules and assisting with administration as directed.
- Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction, particularly for those with dementia or memory care needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as required.
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home community care, assisted living, nursing home, or hospice care is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques is a plus.
- Ability to lift and assist clients safely using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans and protocols.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to handle the physical demands of the job.
