Position Summary
The Cosmetologist provides services such cutting hair and cutting nails of elderly patients with chronic illnesses in order to prevent complications from unkempt nails, skin and hair. Advises patients on proper hygiene and care of the skin, nails and hair. Plays a vital role in prevention of skin and nail infections.
Essential Job Functions

- Cut, trim, and shape hair, based on customers’ instructions and medical needs.
- Identifies patients with unusual skin lesions or pigmentations and notifies the patient’s healthcare provider.
- Identifies patients with unusual skin lesions or pigmentations and notifies the patient’s healthcare provider.
- Cleans and cuts fingernails and toenails using scissors and files.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or (1) year minimum equivalent preferred experience
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience
- Licensed in the State of Florida
- Graduated from an Accredited Beauty School
- English/Spanish
