What are the responsibilities and job description for the PennDOT Certified Test Boring Inspector position at American Geotechnical & Environmental Services,...?
We currently have openings at our King of Prussia, PA branch office for three full-time Certified Test Boring Inspectors to add to our already well-established team. This will be a full-time position. Tasks will include drilling oversight, geologic logging, field data collection, evaluation and interpretation of geologic data, and daily reporting of site activities. Compensation for your travel expenses and travel time to and from the job is included. Overtime will be paid for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
We do have a an out of town bonus and a bonus for night work, if needed.
A significant amount of assignments are expected to be out-of-town, requiring overnight stays, typically Sunday through Thursday night. The firm will pay for your hotel expenses and daily subsistence.
The position involves planning and implementing boring programs for the geotechnical design of transportation projects, primarily in Pennsylvania, with a potential for New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia. Tasks will include drilling oversight, geologic logging, collecting field data, evaluating and interpreting geologic data, and daily reporting of site activities.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter, with a positive “can do” attitude. They must like working with people, enjoy working outdoors, and can work alone and in a group. The position is approximately 75% travel and fieldwork.

Other work includes foundation investigations for retail and commercial developments, shopping malls, and wastewater treatment facilities.
