We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team. The Sales Manager is primarily responsible for leading the Sales segment of American Meet Companies to meet or exceed sales revenue, profitability, and budgetary objectives. The role involves strategic planning, managing people (future), selling, leveraging technology, and improving processes. The Sales Manager is primarily responsible for a segment of the business. Responsible for Product Safety and Quality, Employee Safety, and Legality of Policies and Procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be able to work within a family-owned business with family dynamics. Mentor, motivate, and grow direct report team and possible brokers partners. Hands-on approach while meeting customers and understanding how AMC can help partner with them.
Deliver sales and financial targets. Must understand the pricing complexities of proteins and selling value-added products.
Must be able to update the EVP and Executive team weekly on new customers and projects working on.
Maintain, grow, and optimize portfolio of current customer relationships and add new profitable customers.
Deliver positive impact to AMC organization leadership teams and employees. Continue to build a positive AMC image in the industry.
Maintain a positive work/life balance.
Account Responsibilities
Exceed growth targets by adding expanding business with current customers, adding new chain accounts, distributors, and GPOs
Exceed profitability targets for food service accounts and new expectations to help deliver profitability.
Maximize product line penetration and extensions at distribution, food service, and chain accounts.
Analyze and help determine new logistics drop size targets with fewer deliveries, increasing profitability with food service customers.
Resolve account customer service issues by working directly with AMC customer service and accounts receivables teams.
Responsible for making direct account contact and notification in the event the account is impacted by a product recall
Manage direct sales team/broker relationships and performance
New Sales/item Coordination and Responsibilities
a. Act as customer/sales team Advocate when communicating customer activity with appropriate parties/departments.
Track, communicate, and coordinate all account sales activity to appropriate parties/departments (launches, price requests, sample requests, new item requests, account set-up/changes, logistics/order-production-delivery cycles with appropriate parties/departments to ensure account activity is fully communicated and completed
Notify all appropriate parties-departments of upcoming new customer and new item launches and volume expectations.
Forecast and communicate to appropriate parties-departments new item(s) and account roll-out launch volume.
Coordinate distributor meetings with appropriate parties-departments samples, presentations, price quotes, and special customer requests to ensure meeting requirements are fulfilled
Coordinate and communicate with required parties/departments to attain and establish individual account activity timelines to meet customer expectations
Assist Customer Service to resolve any account activity issues or discrepancies
Manage timely communication to sales team keeping them posted on individual account activity and on-going activity status

Have understanding and expertise working for a family-owned business and dynamics.
Sales and Marketing Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
English and Spanish Knowledge of the structure and content of the English and Spanish languages, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Administration and Management Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Education and Training Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in General Business, Supply Chain Management, Sales/Marketing or applicable field required or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
The most appropriate level of experience for this position is a minimum 10 years of experience in food service sales. Protein sales of Beef, Pork, and Chicken are a must. Perishable food sales experience preferred.
Prior management experience is required. Experience working for Distribution, Manufacturing, and Sales Agencies is a plus. EOE/M/F/VET/DISABLED
